From May 10 to 18, Vernon was the host city for the RBC Cup, the National Championship for Junior A hockey. I was one one the hundreds of volunteers who assisted the organizers in running a class event. By all accounts it was very memorable for all the teams involved.
Congratulations to the Yorkton Terriers for their fantastic come from behind overtime win in the championship final. On a personal note, I had a chance to meet and make friends with people from all over our country. And some of them will make their home in the North Okanagan in the not too distant future!
Here is a picture of me with the championship trophy!
